Fusion materials that perform better than conventional organic, polymer, and ceramic materials will be synthesized by fusing organic and inorganic, soft and hard, or dynamic and static characteristics. Fusion materials will be constructed using abundant natural resources and molecular control principles. The two main targets are environmentally friendly structural materials and dynamic functional materials.
The following three research teams will be involved in this project: the molecular control team (A01), which will explore the basic technology required to construct fusion materials through molecular control; and the structure construction (A02) and function exploration (A03)” teams, which will use the findings from the A01 team to develop the basic technologies into practical materials.
